About Wat Tham Suea (Tiger Cave Temple)

Wat Tham Suea takes its name from the tigers that once lived in its cave. A stairway of 1,237 steps climbs Khao Kaeo to a chedi, a replica of the Buddha’s footprint and a large seated Buddha image, with a 360-degree view of Krabi town and its strange limestone mountains; from September to January you may see a sea of mist at dawn (TAT). Our advice: climb at first light, with water, and dress for a temple: shoulders and knees covered.

Opening hours, prices and seasonal openings change, so please check with Wat Tham Suea (Tiger Cave Temple) before you go.
