About Kathu Shrine

Kathu, once rich in tin, drew Chinese settlers who built this shrine. Local tradition, as TAT tells it, has a visiting Chinese opera troupe fall ill until it kept the vegetarian festival of its homeland, making Kathu the first shrine in Phuket to begin the festival. The present shrine follows the style of temples in China (TAT).

Opening hours, prices and seasonal openings change, so please check with Kathu Shrine before you go.
